State of Origin Tipping - $2,000 National Prize Pool

Game 1: Wednesday 27 May, 8:05pm AEST

State of Origin is the biggest regular-season event in Australian rugby league. In 2025, the series drew its largest free-to-air audiences in a decade — Game 3 alone reached nearly 5.7 million Australians across broadcast and streaming and broke the all-time BVOD record. These are not passive viewers. These are your patrons.

Tipping is open for Game 1 from 13 May and closes at 8:00pm on 27 May.

How it works: Patrons tip the winner of each game. Each correct tip earns points. Scoring systems and the number of winners can vary venue to venue — check your own setup and make sure your staff know the specifics.

Availability: Terminal only. The State of Origin comp is not currently available on the SportsPick app.

Prize pool: $2,000 nationally, split across the three games.

  • $500 first place per game
  • $500 overall series winner

Three Wednesday nights. Three opportunities to fill the room. And if your venue is in NRL territory, you already know what State of Origin does to a pub on game night.

Winter Racing Tipping — Starts 30 May

Round 1: Saturday 30 May | Round 8: Saturday 1 August

Horse racing is the other great reason Australians find their way into pubs and clubs on a Saturday. Australia punches well above its weight globally when it comes to racing — in 2024, there were 95 races worth $1 million or more on the Australian racing calendar. That's a $1 million race roughly every four days.

The Winter Racing Tipping competition runs across eight rounds of major race meetings, from 30 May to 1 August.

How it works: Patrons make one selection in each of the last five races at each designated race meeting. Selections must be submitted at least 10 minutes before the first nominated tipping race of each round.

Scoring: A correct selection earns one point per race. If a horse is scratched, patrons receive the default selection — the first-numbered horse that gains a start. Patrons who miss a round will receive default selections for all races but can score a maximum of 10 points for that meeting, so missing a week doesn't knock them out.

Prize pools: Venues set, collect and manage their own entry fees and prize pools for this competition.

Availability: Available via terminal only.

Global Football Championship Tipping - Starts 1 June

Competition: 1 June – 20 July 2026 | 10 rounds

The FIFA World Cup comes around every four years. 2026 is the first edition hosted across three countries - the United States, Canada, and Mexico - and the first expanded to 48 teams. More nations, more matches, more fans with skin in the game.

In Australia, interest in the tournament is on the rise. A recent report on Australian World Cup viewing intent found that 88% of intending viewers still plan to watch on TV, with weekday evening and weekend matches the most-watched sessions. That audience is coming from somewhere. Make sure some of them are coming to you.

How it works: Patrons tip winners across every match of the tournament - group stage through to the final - across 10 rounds of tipping. Each correct tip earns a point.

Cumulative totals across all 10 rounds determine the final leaderboard. With matches spanning multiple time zones, each round locks when the first match of that round kicks off - so patrons need to get their tips in early. Tipping closes 5 minutes before the first match of each round.

Availability: Available via terminal and the SportsPick app in-venue.

NRLW Tipping — Starts 2 July

Season: 2 July – 14 September 2026

The NRLW is no longer a side story to the men's competition. In 2025, the NRLW Grand Final drew over a million viewers - a 42.7% increase year-on-year.

Across the season, 12.5 million people tuned in. The women's game has a growing, dedicated fanbase, and tipping gives that audience another reason to keep coming back to your venue across the week.

How it works: Patrons tip the winner of every match each round. Each correct tip earns one point. Points accumulate across the season on the national leaderboard. If a patron misses a round, they'll be assigned the away team for up to five matches across the season — which means missing a week or two won't end their competition.

Availability: Available via terminal and the SportsPick app in-venue.

Getting Your Marketing In Order

All the assets you need - posters, digital displays, social content - are available through your Venue Admin portal: venueadmin.sportspick.com.au

A few things worth doing before each competition launches:

  • Put assets up before the comp opens, not the day it starts. Regulars need a week's notice. Give them something to look forward to.
  • Brief your bar staff. They'll be the ones fielding questions at the terminal. Make sure they know what's running and when.
  • Highlight the prize pool. Take advantage of SportsPick's inclusive national prize pool to attract more patrons. Patrons respond to specifics. "$500 for picking the winner of Game 1" lands differently than "prizes available."
